The Crown Berkey holds 6.5 gallons of water, making it the ideal system for use with large families, churches, missions teams, hospitals, missions teams, and orphanages. Since it is a gravity fed water filter system that requires no electricity, water pressure or chemicals to work, yet can provide you with clean water from any source, it is ideal for and for humanitarian aid in crisis situations.

The Crown Berkey is compact and easily portable (only 20" tall when not in use).

Filter Capacity

The Crown Berkey comes standard with two 9" Black Berkey filter elements and has a capacity of up to eight Black Berkey filter elements. Black Berkey Filter Elements remove 99.99999% of bacteria, chemicals, toxic pollutants, as well as bad taste and odors. Configured with two filters, it can filter up to 6.5 gallons 924.6 liters) per hour. When utilizing eight filters, it can filter up to 26 gallons (98.4 liters) per hour. Each water filter element will provide efficient water filtration for up to 3,000 gallons, or up to 24,000 gallons total capacity.

• Heavily contaminated water would result in shorter filter element use, i.e. swamp water, filthy river water or heavily chlorinated* water.
• Filtering cleaner water, such as clear lake or stream water, snow or rain results in longer filter use.

Many Berkey filter buyers will purchase one or more sets of spare filter elements, in case one of the durable filter elements accidentally becomes damaged or in case of an emergency when they are unable to purchase another set at some point in the future.
